Motivation is what drives us to do anything. Intrinsic motivation comes from within ourselves and is our own desire to achieve something. Extrinsic motivation comes externally and is driven by rewards or punishments. In order to create motivation we need to understand how to motivate people and how they work. There are certain principles that apply to motivating others.
Create a sense of urgency
When someone wants to get motivated they want to know what they should be doing and when they should be doing it. People don’t like to wait around and will often procrastinate if given the opportunity. If you want them to take action then you need to give them a deadline. A deadline gives them a sense of urgency and makes them feel like they need to act now.
1.Make the task fun
If you want someone to do something then make sure it’s enjoyable. When we enjoy what we’re doing then we tend to put more effort into it. Making the task enjoyable means making it interesting and exciting.
2. Reward progress
Rewarding yourself for accomplishing a goal is great way to keep motivated. You could reward yourself with some sort of prize or treat once you reach your goal.
3. Keep track of results
Keeping track of your progress is also a great motivator. Seeing the results of your hard work will help you stay motivated and continue working towards your goals.
4. Set realistic expectations
Setting unrealistic expectations will only lead to disappointment. Be honest about what you can accomplish and what you can expect.
5. Focus on the positive
Focus on the things you like about the task instead of focusing on the negative aspects.
6. Have fun!
You should never force anyone to do anything. If you want them motivated then let them decide whether or not they want to participate.
Spend some time every day just appreciating yourself. It’s simple, enjoyable, and incredibly efficient. Imagine going through each day feeling inspired and motivated!
